Installation and Setup
For setup an installer is provided. The installer will guide you through the setup. If the user does not specify a different destination, the app will be installed in the following location:
C:\Program Files\point\microCAL
Configuration files
Along with the installation of microCal, the following configuration files are provided, which are required for microCal to function properly.
| Category | Format | Default path | Remarks |
|---|---|---|---|
| App settings | .json | C:\ProgramData\point electronic\microCAL\ | Initial provided with installer |
| Detection settings | .xml | C:\ProgramData\point electronic\microCAL\DetectionSettings\ | Initial provided with installer |
| Adjustment settings | .xml | C:\ProgramData\point electronic\microCAL\ParameterSettings\ | Initial provided with installer |
Detection settings
Detection settings are required for proper configuration of marker search and measurement. Various files with detection settings can be created. Each file stored in the given location appears as entry in the pulldown menu for the detection settings in the microCAL app. For more details see Detection Settings.
Adjustment settings
Adjustment settings are required for the configuration of the calculation of the transformation parameter, which describe the calibration values. Each file stored in the given location appears as entry in the pulldown menu for the parameter settings in the microCAL app. For more details see Adjustment Settings.
Additional required files
When using microCAL, a number of additional files are required and created. These are primarily the following files:
| Category | Format | Default path | Remarks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reference data | .mcr, .xml | no default path | Provided with calibration sample |
| Measurement data | see below | no default path | Measurement data of calibration sample (image or topography) |
| Project data | .xml | no default path | Project file created by the application for later reuse |
Reference data
Reference data include the reference coordinates of the calibration marker, which are required for the comparison with the measured marker coordinates and the calculation of the calibration parameters. They are provided with the calibration sample and should not be changed under any circumstances.
Measurement data
For a list of compatible measurement data, see the Supported Data File Formats.
