Scope

The External Trigger Interface (ETI) is a universal, standalone hardware controller for switching, mixing, converting, and generating trigger signalssignals.

Intended use

ETI controller is indented for managing connections between multiple scan controllers, high-speed cameras and/or beam blankers.blankers, as often required for 4D STEM. Typical use include

between two trigger devices, for example switching a fast camera to the active scan controller mixing signals of two trigger devices, for example enabling a beam blanker to open on signals from two scan controllers converting TTL to an from LVDS trigger signals, for example a connecting a TTL camera with a LVDS scan controller generating internal trigger signals for testing connections and settings

Inputs and outputs

ETI is housed in a 19-inch enclosure with two height units (2 U) and equipped with

  • two trigger inputs
  • one trigger output
  • an automatic switch input
  • a touch display for settings and status

Each input and output includes Pixel, Line, Frame and BeamBlanker triggers, in TTL and LVDS.

Device USB connection is only used for service, ETI cannot be controlled from a PC, only locally withfrom the display panel.
